What is a circle crop image tool?
A circle crop image tool turns a rectangular photo into a round image with a transparent background around the edge. It is useful for profile pictures, avatars, team photos, product badges and social graphics. Upload your image, adjust the framing inside the circle and download a separate PNG copy when the subject is positioned correctly.
How to crop an image into a circle
- Upload a JPG, PNG or another supported image file.
- Use the zoom slider to make the subject larger or smaller.
- Move the image horizontally and vertically to center the important area.
- Create the crop and download the finished transparent PNG.
The circle is cut from a square crop area. At the default zoom, the tool uses the largest square that fits inside your original image. Increasing zoom enlarges the photo behind the circle and gives you room to focus on a face, logo or other central detail. The move controls only shift the image where the zoom or image proportions leave space, keeping the circular crop filled at all times.
Why use a circular PNG?
PNG preserves transparency, so the corners outside the circle remain clear instead of turning white. That makes the result easier to place over colored web pages, presentations and design templates. Circle crops also create a consistent visual style when several portraits or products appear together. Keep your original rectangular image as well, because it provides more flexibility for future layouts.
