How to make one
- Start with a simple, square image or logo. If it isn't square, crop it first with the Image Cropper.
- Open the Favicon Generator and upload it.
- Download the favicon files and add them to your site.
What makes a good favicon
A favicon is tiny — often shown at 16×16 pixels — so detail disappears. Use a bold, simple mark: a single letter, a symbol, or a heavily simplified logo. Fine text becomes an unreadable smudge at that size.
Sizes you need
Modern sites need several sizes: 16×16 and 32×32 for browser tabs, 180×180 for Apple touch icons, and 192×192/512×512 for Android. A generator produces all of them at once so you don't have to resize by hand.
