Your image stays on your device. Cropping, resizing and download preparation happen only in this browser.

What does this image resizer do?

An image resizer changes the pixel width and height of a picture. This editor also lets you crop before resizing, so you can remove unwanted edges, improve the composition or fit a required shape without stretching the image. It works with JPG, PNG and WebP files directly in your browser.

After adding an image, drag the crop frame to reposition it and pull any corner handle to change the selected area. The grid helps with alignment. Ratio presets create common square, portrait and landscape shapes, while Free mode gives you independent control. Exact crop coordinates are available when a form or publishing system gives you precise requirements.

How to crop and resize an image

  • Upload a JPG, PNG or WebP image from your device.
  • Move and resize the crop frame around the part you want to keep.
  • Select Free, Original, 1:1, 4:5, 4:3 or 16:9 for the crop ratio.
  • Enter the desired output width or height, or use a percentage shortcut.
  • Keep output ratio locked to prevent the cropped area from stretching.
  • Choose JPG, PNG, WebP or keep the source format.
  • Create the image, review the preview and download the finished file.

The crop size and output size are separate. For example, you can select a 1200 by 800 pixel portion of a photo and export it at 600 by 400 pixels. Reducing dimensions usually produces a clean result. Enlarging is possible, but it cannot create detail that was not present in the source.

Formats and quality

JPG is often a good choice for photographs because it creates smaller files and offers an adjustable quality setting. PNG preserves sharp graphics and transparency, although files can be larger. WebP can provide efficient web images while supporting transparency. If you export a transparent image as JPG, transparent areas are placed over white because JPG does not support transparency.

Why edit locally?

Local editing avoids an upload queue and keeps personal images on your computer or phone. It is useful for photos of documents, receipts, products and family pictures that you may not want to send to a processing service. Your original file is never changed; the tool creates a separate result for download. Check the destination site’s required aspect ratio, dimensions and file format before exporting.

Frequently asked questions

Will resizing change my original image?

No. The tool makes a separate resized file for download and leaves the image on your device unchanged.

What does keep aspect ratio mean?

A crop ratio controls the shape of the selected area. The output ratio lock keeps that shape when you change the download width or height, preventing distortion.

Which image format should I choose?

Use JPG for most photos, PNG for sharp graphics or transparency, and WebP when you want a web-friendly format with efficient compression.

Are my images uploaded to a server?

No. The image is resized with the Canvas API in your browser and never leaves your device through this tool.
