What is a temperature converter?

How to use this temperature converter

For example, enter 0, choose Celsius as the starting unit and Fahrenheit as the target unit to get 32 °F. To convert a cooking temperature such as 350 °F to Celsius, choose Fahrenheit in From and Celsius in To. The result can include decimals because the scales do not always convert to whole numbers.
How temperature conversions work
Temperature scales have different starting points as well as different-sized degrees, so they cannot be converted with one simple multiplication factor. This tool first converts the entered value to Celsius as an internal reference, then converts that Celsius value to the selected result scale.
To change Celsius to Fahrenheit, multiply by nine fifths and add 32. To change Fahrenheit to Celsius, subtract 32 and multiply by five ninths. Kelvin uses the same-sized interval as Celsius, but its zero point is 273.15 degrees lower: 0 °C equals 273.15 K. Kelvin values cannot physically be lower than absolute zero, although this calculator will display the mathematical conversion for any number you enter.
